Tasting notes
A delicate yet expressive red wine with pure fruit and gentle structure. Aromas of ripe red berries, dark cherry, and kirsch unfold with clarity. The palate is dry, with a balanced interplay of fresh acidity and fine, slightly bitter tannins. While light in body, the wine carries a subtle depth, with hints of savoury nuance and a dried fruit character reminiscent of persimmon emerging over time. When first opened, it may appear slightly tight, but with air it becomes more open and aromatic, revealing a soft and layered expression.
Food pairing
Light meat dishes such as roast beef, poultry, charcuterie, grilled vegetables, and dishes with gentle umami.
Winemaking
Rosage Noir 2024 is a second wine from domaine tetta, based primarily on Pinot Noir. It is produced in Okayama, where the vineyards are planted on limestone-rich soils known for contributing natural acidity and mineral expression to the grapes.
The grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Gentle pigeage is used to extract colour and structure while preserving balance and clarity of fruit. The wine is then aged in tanks to maintain freshness and purity. A small amount of sulphites is added for stability, and the wine is bottled unfiltered.
“Rosage” refers to rhododendron, often described as a “flower of the highlands.” This wine reflects the ongoing pursuit of an ideal expression of Pinot Noir, shaped by both the terroir and the winemaking approach.
