Winemaking
This wine is a combination of multi-year cuvées (M.V. stands for multi-vintage). Made mainly from Chardonnay grown by contract farmers in the area, with 2021 Pinot Noir and Muscat Bailey A from their own vineyard matured in stainless steel tanks, and 2020 Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon destemmed, crushed, fermented and matured in new oak for over 20 months. In 2021, despite continuous rainfall from July to the first half of September, good weather throughout September allowed other varieties, including Chardonnay, to be harvested with their acidity intact. The wines are ready to drink immediately after release.

The FUKUIHARA series is made exclusively from their own grapes, and grapes from neighbouring contract growers in the same Fukuihara area. The wines strongly reflect the terroir of the region. The series is produced with the image of wine to be drunk casually with everyday meals, and the labels have a pop design. The environment of the Fukuihara area and the winery is represented: a nature surrounded by mountains and with a very beautiful starry sky at night. The pheasant depicted in the centre is frequently seen in the area. It is a lovely bird with comical movements and calls, but it eats grapes. In this label, the pheasant symbolises nature and how the winery family is swayed by the harsh nature.
