This wine was produced at 10R Winery in Iwamizawa, Hokkaido, by Bruce Gutlove, director of COCO FARM \u0026amp; WINERY and winemaker at 10R Winery.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eThe grapes were lightly destemmed and fermented at moderate temperature using indigenous yeast, followed by approximately three weeks of maceration before pressing.\u003cbr\u003eThe wine was aged for 14 months in oak barrels (20% used American oak, 10% new French oak, 70% used French oak), then lightly racked, blended, and bottled unfiltered on September 7, 2023.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eZweigelt is a grape variety developed in Austria in 1922 by crossing Saint Laurent and Blaufränkisch. Well suited to cooler climates, it allows for the production of deep, structured red wines even in Hokkaido.
